The Top Split – Episode #004 – Nim Cross Jr.

IRacing Chief Steward Nim Cross Jr. was my guest this episode.  Nim was able to give an excellent overview of the process drivers will go through when they lodge a protest as well as some fantastic insights into the philosophies behind the system.  It’s easy to tell that Nim is not only a fan of racing but is genuinely very passionate about what he does and really puts a lot of himself into his work in making the iRacing service and the experience of it better for us all.  He was a wealth of information and insight and it was a pleasure to have him on the show.

Make sure you check out the video footage of Nim’s crack at The Top Split Hotlap Leaderboard which you can find here – LINKY

Australasian Superskips Round 7 @ Bathurst

A fantastic line up of 30 plus cars once again came out for the latest round of the Australasian Superskips. Mount Panorama played host to Round 7 of the championship with a strong field of cars and their drivers looking to tame the sacred home of Australian motor sport.

Personally, after a poor qualifying run, where I blew a fantastic opportunity of tucking in behind a faster driver and take advantage of their tow, when whilst half a second up on what ended up being my ultimate qualification time, I overcooked my run through Caltex Chase. This left me languishing somewhat in 20th position on the grid with nothing left for it but to put my head down and enjoy the fantastic ride that the Bathurst track provides.

No more spoilers, my race is below. The full championship standings can be found here – LINKY

Australasian Superskips Round 6 @ Interlagos

Another amazing 34 car field for what is a great track for the Skip Barber car and Round 6 of the Australasian Superskips at Interlagos.  There was action throughout the field and another top quality line up of drivers with a great mix of overseas drivers and a very strong representation of local club drivers as well.

I streamed the race live again.  The results of which you can see below.  There was some good racing and a little frustration in not being able to make more racing for those a little ahead and just out of my reach, with the pit stop once again showing that I have plenty to work on as it looked to cost me a shot at some higher placed results.  Having said that, nothing more could be said for the great racing on a fantastic track!

Australasian Superskips Round 5 @ Donington

A fantastic 34 car field turned up to take on the tight Donington National layout.  This presented some unique challenges and opportunities for drivers in both qualifying and the race.  It also saw yours truly return to the track for this series after unfortunately having to miss 3 rounds.  It put my championship hopes of a top 5 position in a shambles, but, the enjoyment of the racing well and truly made up for it.

I am playing a bit of catch up with the Superskips races, so I will let the racing do the talking.  I am back on the streaming bandwagon, so this is the race from my perspective….make sure you watch the finish.  I know I was somewhat of a nervous wreck by the end!

MNL Season 7 Race 8 @ Interlagos

Another great turn out for round 8 of the Monday Night Lights with the series heading to Brazil for the affectionately named Interlagos track.  A very popular track that brought out a great field and fantastic driving.  The racing was hot up front and throughout as the drivers looked to take advantage of an unusually cool track and made the most of the great layout.

Check out the race replay below, brought to you again by RRtv and follow the official standings on the Monday Night Lights section of this website.
